Response to COVID-19 CoronavirusThe School of Ministry Office is continuing to provide courses online. Sessions for the Ministry Formation Courses (ITM and TLM) will be given through a partnership with Dayton Univerisity. Scripture will be given via zoom with some in-person meetings through the School of Ministry.
The School of Ministry is starting to provide in person courses again. The Introduction to Theology for Ministry Course (ITM) is currently in progress. The school is also looking at providing some additional Specialized Ministry courses. Please see the information listed below for more information. If you have a need for specific ministry training please contact our office or complete a request form. -
Ministry Formation Courses (ITM & TLM)The School of Ministry will be providing the Introduction to Theology for Ministry (ITM) and the Theology and Leadership for Ministry (TLM) courses in English and Spanish via a partnership with the University of Dayton. These adult studies of the teachings of the Catholic Church are the foundational courses for ministry formation in the Diocese of Stockton.
The ITM course fulfills the theological requirements for all diocesan ministry certification and Catechist Certification from the California Catholic Conference of Bishops. This is a pre-requisite to register for the TLM course. Although intended for lay ecclesial ministers, this course is open to all Catholic adults. This course is also currently being provided in-person.
The TLM is a more in-depth study of topics introduced in the ITM for those who wish to continue their study of theology, who wish to become a master catechist and also the theological component of the diaconate process.

Participants are asked to register with the Diocese before registering with Dayton University. After registering through the Diocese you will receive instructions on how to register through Dayton. To register for either of the courses please select the link below

Scripture Institute Course
This in-depth Bible Study course is provided every year starting in September. The upcoming course that will be covered in the 2022-23 formation year will be the "Old and New Testaments concluded: The Word in the Hellenistic World". To view the schedule for the upcoming course click the link below.
