Specialized Ministry Training provides skills training for specific ministries. The School of Ministry, in collaboration with other diocesan offices, offers these training sessions. Most of these training sessions are available in English and Spanish. Participants need the recommendation of the pastor or his delegate in order to receive credit for these training sessions.
Parishes may request that a particular training course be offered for their ministers by contacting the School of Ministry Office. Upon request of a parish the School of Ministry can offer the following specializations, provided the minimum enrollment requirements are met:
Catechesis: Adult, Elementary/Jr. High
Parish Catechetical Leader: DRE
Youth Ministry:
Sacramental Preparation Ministries: RCIA, Pre-Baptismal, Confirmation, Marriage Preparation
Caring Ministries: Grief Ministry, Communion Minister to the sick/homebound, Ministry to the divorced/separated.
Liturgical Ministry: Lector, Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, Ministry of Hospitality
