Ordinary time is the portion of the Liturgical year in which the members of the Body of Christ reflect on and grow in their faith by reflecting on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The mysteries in the life of Christ are hidden within the miracles He performed, the truth He spoke, and the love He extended to those casted out by society or have seemed to be overcome by sin. During ordinary time, the faithful have the opportunity to know God more fully in continued prayer and faithfulness. With the graces received in seeking God through these mysteries, the members of the Church are strengthened in their faith allowing for greater closeness with God and a life of sanctity.
Ordinary time comes to a close at the celebration of the Solemnity of Christ the King.
