"My flesh for the life of the world"
- John 6:51
To renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
To inspire a movement of Catholics across the United States who are healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist - and who are then sent out on mission "for the life of the world."
The first year of the revival invites diocesan and parish staff and clergy to what Pope Francis has described as "a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ" - particularly the transforming power and mercy of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.
The parish year will focus on fostering eucharistic devotion at the parish level, strengthening our liturgical life through eucharistic adoration, exposition, missions, resources, preaching, and organic movements of the Holy Spirit. All of this is meant to help convert hearts and minds to fall more deeply in love with Jesus Christ, truly present in the Holy Eucharist.
In 2024, the first national Eucharistic Congress in the U.S. since 1976 will be held in Indianapolis, bringing together more than 100,000 Catholics from around the country to worship the Lord in the holy Eucharist, and to be sent on mission back to their dioceses to bear witness to the power and wonder of this most precious gift of our Lord.
Following the Eucharistic Congress, the entire Church in the U.S. will be sent on mission to share the gift of our Eucharistic Lord with their local communities and beyond!
