MIGRANT MINISTRY SPECIALIST - DIOCESE OF STOCKTON PASTORAL CENTER

The Diocese of Stockton Migrant Ministry office has an immediate opening for a full-time Migrant Ministry Specialist, this position is 35 hours per week, and is an extension of the Bishop’s Ministry.

This position will develop a process of evangelization for the migrant community that offers and promotes the integral formation that will support their cultural and religious values. This position will work with local parishes to develop leadership groups to address the specific necessities of the migrant camps in the parishes’ parochial area and is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of the Pastoral Plan for Migrant Ministry in collaboration  with  the   Director  of Migrant Ministry; promote and impel catechist formation for migrants that is already in place and organize such formation where it is not, in collaboration with the corresponding diocesan offices and the parish. Works with the Director of the offices of Migrant & Hispanic Ministry in the annual Grant application proposal for Migrant Ministry and in preparing the report at the end of the year.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, religious studies and/or related areas of ministry
• Knowledge and understanding of Hispanic culture and religiosity
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, training, and public relations skills.
• Minimum of five years of related parish of diocesan level experience
• Practical understanding of Catholicism and ministry
• Valid California Drivers’ license.
• Must be fingerprinted and background checked.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as well as take independent initiative 
• Will require independent travel to parishes and migrant camps
• Both inside office and outdoor work environments, 
• Flexible schedule to work evenings and some weekends

Tribunal Director-Diocese of Stockton Pastoral Center
The Diocese of Stockton is seeking a full-time Director of the Tribunal. (35 hours per week) Primary responsibilities include managing the daily flow of work in the Tribunal (as stipulated in Dignitas Connubii, art. 61 §2), supervising and evaluating its staff, managing documentary and administrative processes, and handling requests for matrimonial dispensations and permissions.
Required Qualifications:

1. Fully initiated member of the Catholic Church.

2. Licentiate or doctorate in canon law.

3. Commitment to the ecclesial vision and mission of Vatican II.

4. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

5. Excellent written communication skills.

6. Valid California Driver's License.

 I. Identifying Information:

Status: Full-time Position.   Exempt (40 hours per week)

II. Primary Responsibilities (full list of responsibilities available on request):

• Lead teens closer to Christ through weekly youth ministry gatherings, utilizing Life Teen model, for a large parish: over 130 teens attend youth ministry each week 
• Recruit, train and supervise youth and adult leaders to be effective small group leaders; provide ongoing and regular training for adult and teen leaders 
• Provide 3-5 retreats per year for high school teens
• Supervise student leadership team, and coordinate monthly teen leader meetings
• Develop and coordinate youth ministry service opportunities; provide each high school small group with two service opportunities each year
• In collaboration with middle school youth minister, recruit and train teen leaders for Vacation Bible School, supervise teen leaders during VBS week
