As One envisions a unified and vibrant diocesan faith-community, working closely together under the dynamic leadership of the Bishop.

As One seeks to develop a welcoming Pastoral Center Staff attentive to the needs of local pastors and their parishes through patient accompaniment, genuine dialogue, listening and, providing support and resources.

As One recognizes that Parishes have much in common, but each parish has unique characteristics and needs that should be acknowledged and respected.¹

• Parish-Centered approach to Leadership:  Setting goals collaboratively by determining the needs of individual parishes and the Diocese as the local church.
• Collaborative Decision Making: building consensus through dialogue and consultation;
• Listening and Accompaniment: Creating new channels of communication between the Parishes and the Pastoral Center through the role of the Diocesan Resource Representative. Additionally, active listening on the part of Diocesan Directors also facilitates greater communication.
• Communion and Subsidiarity: Striving to balance the unifying leadership role of the Office of the Bishop with the recognition of legitimate parish autonomy.²
• Empowering Local Initiatives:  Strengthening parishes and building their capacities to discern and meet their unique needs and challenges through the development of a comprehensive pastoral plan.
• Promoting Partnership: Encouraging all to work together for the common good of the local church by sharing insights, best practices and resources.
• Embracing Cultural Diversity: Recognizing the gifts and challenges of being a multi-cultural Church we strive to provide formation and resources to encourage more welcoming spaces and greater participation in church leadership.
