Bishop Blaire Initiates Planning For The Diocesan Pastoral Council

On July 19 th Bishop Blaire met with Carmen Cervantes, Sr. Terry Davis, Patricia Jones, Teresa Locke, Reverend Ivo Rocha, Msgr. Richard Ryan, Wilma Silva, Sr. Barbara Thiella, Deacon Mike Wofford to plan for the Diocesan Pastoral Council (DCP).

This group created the following mission statement for the Diocesan Pastoral Council:

The Pastoral Council for the Diocese of Stockton is a consultative body that studies and reflects on pastoral matters and makes recommendations to the Bishop in response to the Diocesan Synod and other significant pastoral issues.

Their preliminary work also included setting up the structure of the DCP, the composition and means of selecting the members and suggested meeting times and locations.
