Statement by Bishop Stephen Blaire on the Settlement of Two Child Abuse Claims

On Tuesday, March 22, 2005, the Diocese of Stockton in cooperation with its insurance carriers resolved two cases in the current Clergy III proceedings. The settlements of 1.8 million dollars to each plaintiff were fully funded by insurance proceeds.

The diocese is pleased to bring these matters to closure for those involved and looks forward to continuing its effort to reach fair and just resolutions for the victims of childhood sexual abuse.
