Serra Clubs Honor Altar Servers at Third Annual Mass

The Serra Clubs of Stockton and Modesto co-sponsored and hosted their Third Annual Altar Servers Recognition Mass at the Cathedral of the Annunciation on Tuesday evening, March 11, 2008.

Twenty four parishes participated by submitting the names of individuals from among their altar servers who best exemplified the qualities of: Leadership, reverence, responsibility, desire to serve and longevity. The participating parishes nominated 110 altar servers for this award who received a letter inviting them and their immediate family to this event.

Guests included approximately five hundred people. Certificates of Award and Medallions of Service were given to each altar server nominated. There were 54 awarded from the Stockton Serra and 56 awarded from the the Modesto Serra. In breaking down the genders we had sixty-six boys and forty-four girls, (including about ten adults) honored on this evening.
