A few snapshots of a wonderful day in the Diocese of Stockton

Alter Servers Honored

On Wednesday, March 14, 2007, the Serra Clubs of Stockton and Modesto honored Altar Servers within the Diocese of Stockton at their Second Annual Altar Servers Recognition Mass, held at the Cathedral of the Annunciation. Fr. Lawrence McGovern, Stockton Serra Chaplain, was the Presider.

The Serra Clubs had invited each parish to submit the names of candidates who exhibited qualities of leadership, reverence, responsibility, desire to serve and longevity during their service at the Table of the Lord. Seventeen parishes responded to the invitation with the names of 60 altar servers, whom they felt reflected these qualities. Each altar server was presented with a Serra Club certificate of merit and medal in the presence of their families, altar server coordinators and fellow altar servers A reception was held immediately following the mass to celebrate the occasion.

The Serra Clubs of Stockton and Modesto wish to thank all of the parishes who participated in this event and pray that even more parishes will respond to the invitation next year.
