Catholic Social Teaching
None of this work can be done effectively without
careful formation. The Social Ministry Committee must have
an opportunity to learn about Biblical justice and the principles
of Catholic social teaching. Parish leaders must be provided
the opportunity to learn about the various national and state
offices and agencies of the Church that are trying to make
our tradition a reality in the world. They must become aware
of political realities at the local, state and national levels.
The leaders will then in turn work with others in the parish
to make sure that Catholic social teaching is being taught
in our schools, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Adult
Religious Education and other places where faith formation
is occurring.
