Ministry Celebration - 2008 - Celebracion de Ministerios

Registration Form - 284 KB

What is Ministry Day Celebration?
Ministry Day is the Annual Adult Faith Formation Conference of the Diocese of Stockton. The Conference provides professional development opportunity for all parish ministers and a day of spiritual enrichment and growth in faith for all Catholics. As a diocese we gather around our Bishop to celebrate who we are and to affirm our commitment to carry out our mission as the local Church. It is a must for all who take their baptismal call seriously.

When did Ministry Day begin?

Ministry Day is 35 years strong!

The first “Diocesan Institute” was held in 1973, with three workshops in English, intended for catechists only and a $5.00 registration fee. It has evolved into a Ministry Day - a day of ongoing formation for parish ministers, for all adult Catholics and for those seeking to become Catholics.

What happens at this Ministry Day Conference?

  • The day begins with a bilingual gathering prayer and a welcoming address by the Most Reverend Bishop Stephen E. Blaire.
  • There is a keynote address on the theme, one in English and one in Spanish.
  • There are over 60 workshops with a wide range of topics: social issues, Scripture, spirituality, catechetics, leadership, finances, youth ministry, music ministry, life issues, morality, and so forth! Registration includes the keynot, two workshop sessions, and active participation in a Focus Group.
  • The 2008 Ministry Conference will showcase about 40 companies as exhibitors – ranging from religious art to music, and from publishing houses to educational institutions, in addition to our own represented diocesan ministries.
  • There is networking, camaraderie and fellowship with ministers from parishes from across the Diocese.
  • There is an opportunity to interact with local and national speakers, with our own Bishop, and to meet many new people.
  • The day culminates with the celebration of the Sunday Liturgy, presided by Bishop Blaire.

Who is invited to participate in the Diocesan Ministry Day Conference?
