Bishop Blaire is pleased to inaugurate the 50th anniversary of the Diocese of Stockton by announcing the individuals who will be honored for their long and distinguished service in the diocese. They will be publicly honored at the Bishop’s Awards Dinner on October 20, 2012.

The  Diocese of Stockton was created on January 13, 1962 from the original Archdiocese of San Francisco and the Diocese of Sacramento. Bishop Hugh Donohoe was the first bishop. Bishop Blaire came to the Diocese of Stockton as the fifth bishop in 1999. The 50th anniversary will be celebrated throughout the year at parishes and diocesan events with the theme of "Ever Young in Christ."

"Women & Spirit" is a traveling exhibition depicting the innovative, action-oriented women whose passion for justice helped shape our nation’s social and cultural landscape. The untold story of these unsung heroes is now recounted, documenting a vital and significant perspective of American history. The exhibit runs from January 24, 2012-June 3, 2012.
