Whether you are seeking

Baptism for yourself

or your child, welcome!

From birth through age six, children are baptized through the Rite of Baptism for Children. Our Diocesan Policy on the celebration of this sacrament can be found here.

Baptism from the age of seven through adult is governed by the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Initiation of those ages seven and up includes the celebration of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, usually at the Easter Vigil following two years of formation and preparation. Many of our parishes have programs for children as well as programs for adults. You can get more information on this process by looking at the RCIA area of this website.

Information Regarding Sponsors/Godparents

The role of the Baptism Sponsor/Godparent is ancient and sacred. The individuals who serve in this capacity are required to be practicing Catholics in good standing with the church, who can lead the newly baptized through word and example into the life of faith.
