Scripture Study

Scripture Institute

The Scripture Institute offers an intense scripture study program based on the Denver Catholic Biblical School Program. Each year consists of three ten-week units. Its purpose is to lead Catholics in a deeper understanding of how to interpret scripture as the Catholic Church intends. The scriptures will be examined by taking into account the literary context, the historical context, and the social and rhetorical context.

Year 1:  Old Testament Foundations

Year 3:  Old Testament-Exile & Restoration

    Unit 1:  Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers    

    Unit 1:  Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, Jeremiah

    Unit 2:  Deuteronomy, Genesis

    Unit 2:  Ezekiel, Isaiah, Ezra, Nehemiah

    Unit 3:  Joshua, Judges, Samuel, Kings

    Unit 3:  Chronicles, Joel, Malachi, Psalms

Year 2:  New Testament Foundations

Year 4:  Old/New Testament-Hellenistic World

    Unit 1:  Mark, Luke

    Unit 1:  Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes, Sirach,
                  Wisdom

    Unit 2:  Acts, Pauline Letters

    Unit 2:  Jonah, Daniel, Ester, Judith, Maccabees

    Unit 3:  John, Revelations

    Unit 3:  Matthew, Non-Pauline Letters
