What is it?

 

A two-year course of intense study of the teachings of the Catholic Church with ministerial and leadership training

 

 
   

Its purpose

 

- To prepare participants for skilled ministerial involvement  and ecclesial leadership

- To provide a deeper knowledge of Catholic theology

- To provide the theological component for deaconate formation

 

 
       
       
   

Topics:

 

Year One: Christian Anthropology, Theological Reflection, Scripture, Faith Development, Christology, Self Care, Canon Law, Ecclesiology, Church History Trinity, Mary

Year Two: Grace/Sin/Redemption, Moral Development/Conscience Formation, Liturgy, Sacraments, Prayer/Spirituality, World Religions, Culture, Evangelization/ Catechesis, Ethics, Communication, Collaborative Ministry, Social Doctrine, Canon Law

 

 
       
   

Prerequisites:

 

- Basic certification through the School of Ministry or equivalency

- A practicing Catholic

- Ability to study at an advanced level

- Present involvement in church ministry

 

 
       
       
       
   

Course Demands:

 

- Ten monthly Saturday and Sunday sessions for 2 years

 
       

- A minimum of 22 hours monthly for reading and written assignments

- Four meetings yearly for ministry supervision

 

 
       
   

Fee:

 

$800.00 each year – full enrollment including books

$300.00 each year – audit
